One of the most memorable restaurant experiences I’ve had was in the late 1990’s when two New York friends took me for lunch at The Four Seasons.  I was completely blown away by the space – a Philip Johnson interior within Mies van der Rohe’s Seagram building, virtually unchanged since its creation in 1959.  The food was spectacular (The Four Seasons was the first restaurant in the US to serve seasonal food, hence the name), I had the best martini I’ve ever had and Brooke Astor was at the next table.
